Human Factors Engineering

Control rooms designed around the people who run them.

We help industrial companies design control rooms, HMIs and alarm systems that are safe, efficient and easy to use, based on Human Factors and ISO 11064.

We cannot change the human condition, but we can change the conditions under which humans work.

Our approach

Human-centred design, from the first site visit to final validation

An attractive control room is not always a functional one. Functionality comes from involving the end users (operators, shift supervisors, maintenance staff, DCS suppliers and consultants) throughout the design.

  • Data gathering on site through interviews, workshops, questionnaires and observation
  • Analysis and requirements based on real functions and tasks
  • Conceptual and detailed design with several iterations
  • Documented Human Factors reports and validation & verification
